Wooden Building? Do you want Smart Panel or T1-11?
Smart Panel is an engineered wood product that is also used for home siding. The 8 inch strips on Smart Panel can be painted over and over, and they’re guaranteed to resist rot, mold, mildew, and termites. Smart Panel wood is a renewable resource, harvested from tree farms that are replanted year after year. Many home owners’ associations and building codes require any outbuildings on your property to be sided with wood, and Smart Panel meets that requirement.
T1-11 is the traditional siding for wooden buildings. It has a four inch stripping, and is what most shed companies use for siding. T1-11 must be painted or stained to avoid discoloration, and we offer several color choices for you to choose from. Since they are comparable in price, most individuals choose the superior Smart Panel product.
Metal Shed? Steel Dutch Lap or Steel Agricultural Panel?
Steel Dutch Lap. This durable siding give the look of horizontal vinyl siding, but with advantages! Because it’s not brittle, you won’t get holes in it from stones thrown by a lawn mower. You also don’t need a sheath underneath it, making the building stay cooler in the summer. Steel Dutch Lap meets the requirement of HOA rules which require vinyl siding. Incidentally, even though the steel is a better product, vinyl siding costs more. We have several colors for vinyl siding: white, light gray, ivory, tan, and clay.
Steel Agricultural Panel. Every one of our metal buildings that have Steel Ag Panels are custom built for us by IP Storage Solutions. Using the same quality steel as what you’ll find on roofs and old barns, these vertical panels are the most durable of all our panels. The industrial look siding comes in white, light gray, tan, and clay.
Choosing sides is hard, but at Hometown, you can be assured that whatever you decide, you’re going to end up on the right side – with a high quality attractive portable building that will fit you and your budget.
