As you drive down the road you probably see lots of storage building companies. Even the big box stores now offer various types of buildings. You may ask yourself, “What’s the difference?” The answer is simple. At Hometown Sheds our buildings are made to stand the test of time.
Crafting Your Creation. Our metal and wooden sheds are not assembled in cookie cutter fashion, with the same standard pieces and parts on each building. Each shed is handcrafted from the ground up with quality materials in our factory right down the road in Danville, Virginia. We’re all about making the building process as customized as possible. Whether you order your shed or purchase one off of our local lots, you can rest assured that they’re going to last. Our carpenters measure every square inch to ensure perfect fit for windows, doors, loft ceilings, porches, and custom enhancements.
What Really Matters. You’ll often hear our lot managers say, “It’s all about the floors and the doors”. Ten years down the road these are often two of the main areas that will fail with the “other” companies. Our sheds are built locally using 3/4” tongue-in-groove floor decking and 2′ x 6′ floor joists for added support. Any area of the shed that may come in close contact to the ground is also pressure or moisture treated to help prevent mold, mildew, and rot over the life of your building. A common complaint we’ve heard about the big box store buildings is that the doors can warp or sag over time. The doors on the sheds from Hometown are steel framed to ensure they hold their structure throughout the years.
All of our buildings are built according to plan, with attention to the strict requirements of building code. You don’t have to worry that someone is cutting corners, or trying to get by with sub-standard practices.
Another display of quality in our buildings that you probably won’t find elsewhere is engineered trusses. Simply put, the trusses are the beams that hold up the roof – a pretty important part of your shed. Find our more about why engineered trusses are important in your building here.
