Playsets 101: What You Need to Know

Hometown Sheds is known for our quality and durable storage buildings but we often get many questions about the amazing playsets that we offer as well. Recently Pleasant Grove OFWB Church was referred to our Goldsboro location by a previous church that had purchased a playset from us. Like many other customers, the church had questions regarding pricing, customization, durability and more. The answers to many of these questions can help guide you during with your decisions as well. 

How are they made? Our playsets are built to stand the test of time. They are created using pressure treated wood and then wrapped in vinyl for an extra layer of protection from the elements. When choosing swings as one of your options you can rest easy knowing that they include super flexible plastic silicon which doesn’t burn your hands in the hot summer sun. The chains are covered in rubber coating so little fingers aren’t pinched while playing and the ladders have non slip steps and safety rails.  n they be customized? Yes! No two playsets have to be exactly the same. We offer many makes and models which include great features like rock climbing walls, swings, ladders, monkey bars, slides, bridges and more. Recycled rubber mulch, the number one shock absorber in case of a fall, is also available to complete your play area. And kids aren’t the only ones having fun, we have options for adults too including benches, picnic tables and a loveseat swing. 

Are they durable? Our playsets are built by the Amish, who are known for their craftsmanship, and shipped directly from Pennsylvania. They come with a 20 year warranty on defects from workmanship and will outlast your kids, and likely your grandkids. With pressure treated wood wrapped in vinyl you won’t have to worry about the sets breaking down due to the hot summer sun and cold snow. 

How long will it take? Since all our sets are customized to fit your needs, we estimate 6-8 weeks for delivery and set up depending on weather and scheduling with the customer.
