Our Building: Educating Future Farmers

You’ll find storage buildings from Hometown Sheds all over – homes and businesses, churches and farms. You’ll also find us at schools, like the agricultural building commissioned by Southern Guilford High School in Greensboro, NC.

Planting the Seeds. Southern Guilford has a terrific agricultural science department where students get their hands dirty learning about everything from planting poinsettias to biotechnology. The school also has a very large chapter of Future Farmers of America. They needed a building that would be dedicated to the industrious students that are already farming our country.

When we met with the school, they told us they needed more educational space, an area for housing goats, a wash tub room, and storage. We worked to create a plan for the building, get it approved, and stay within a school budget!

Reaping the Crop. The new Ag building is a large, 30 x 80 space. We added lean to’s, extra walls, and roll up doors to accommodate each space’s purpose. Included in the turn key job were all the doors and windows, the exterior color, and the electrical package. Students, equipment. and animals are protected by a 29 gauge high ribbed steel Galvalume roof.
