Our sheds and carports are often found in backyards and businesses, but when we receive a special request the team at Hometown works together to make it come to life. Just like many school projects, a recent idea at Southern Guilford High School proved to be a new challenge but the outcome will benefit the school for many years to come.
Doing Some Research. The high school has a very active FFA and agricultural program and they were desiring a functional building to house goats, an educational/learning area, washroom area, and plenty of storage. As part of the approval process, the group met with several builders but after meeting with our team and seeing what we had to offer decided that we were the best fit.
Gathering The Materials. All of the buildings at Hometown Sheds can be customized with door options, windows, interior dividing walls, electrical packages, color options and more! Due to the size and nature of the building this school requested, many of these features were put into place. By adding “lean tos”, extra walls and storage areas, the final result had everyone well pleased and a space that was not just appealing but also functional. As part of their initial plan, the group desired to house goats in one section of the unit. The standard 29 gauge high ribbed steel Galvalume® roof panels and 29 gauge Galvalume® siding will ensure everything and everyone is safe and sheltered from the elements all year long.
The Final Presentation. The building was fully completed in the fall when school started back. After fulfilling all of the group’s wish list, the unit itself is very large – coming in close to 30 X 80. The school held a ribbon cutting debuting the Animal Science Facility and the clubs are already putting it to good use.
