A Shed with Style: How One Customer Created Her Own Boutique

At Hometown Sheds, our buildings serve multiple purposes: backyard storage, workshops, she sheds, man caves and yes, even shopping boutiques. One of our recent customers took her need for an in-person shop combining it with a custom Hometown shed and created a unique boutique shopping experience for her business, Nona Lane Boutique.

How It Started.

Owner Lisa Nona and her daughter own an online clothing boutique that was originally started online and in a spare bedroom. After fast online growth, they recognized the need for an in-person shopping experience. Lisa had seen some sheds that she thought looked like a tiny home and decided to start shopping around to research her options.

Deciding on a Shed.

Having an idea of what she wanted in mind, Lisa started to shop for various shed companies to see her options. She drove over 1.5 hours away from her home, visiting different shed lots over a several week period. Ultimately, she was impressed with the selection and quality of the sheds at Hometown. “The quality was better than any others I saw”. After working with Hometown Sheds Gastonia manager, Cindy, Lisa ended up custom ordering a 12×28 porch model shed which she describes as looking like a little house.

Creating an In Person Boutique.

Once the shed was delivered, her family got to work. The shed was turned into a beautiful boutique by adding drywall, flooring, insulation, electricity, an air conditioner, and even specialty ceiling lights. They then added a dressing room area, and a place to Facebook live videos as well as having open hours for customers to come shop. When you drive up, you’ll recognize the boutique by a “Nona Lane” street sign, beautiful landscaping providing a welcoming look and feel and a wrap-around front porch.  You can find Nona Lane Boutique on both Facebook and TikTok, by shopping online, or by tuning in to their live sales every Sunday at 7pm.
