Our Playsets Make Their Worldwide Debut

You’ve probably seen or driven by our Hometown Sheds locations and admired the beautiful playsets in one of our many cities on the east coast. Now these same sets can be found all the way across the world in Africa!

Creating A Plan For Play. Our Hudson, NC location was contact by Christian Missionary Alliance which houses a missionary compound in Guinea, Africa. The group had been researching and making plans for an outdoor play area for the children who lived there. With their budget in mind, we got together to create a customized playset. From the beginning, the group wanted to make sure that the unit would be safe for their families and would outlast the termites which are a problem in that area of the country.

Our Amish built, vinyl wrapped playsets were the perfect solution. All of different models include safety features, including silicon wrapped chains on the swings, flexible plastic silicon, non-slip steps on the ladders and safety rails. Our enclosed bubble tubes also help to prevent slide burn from the hot glaring sun. We offer many unique options on our playsets, even unique features for adults like picnic tables, benches and double swings.

Getting The Fun Started. Once we finalized the playset plans, the unit was shipped out from Hickory, NC in May. After global shipping time and customs, it arrived at its home in September and a representative from Hometown Sheds made the trek to help install it. Along with many of the group’s volunteers, the entire playset came to life in about three days, and the children are already enjoying their new outdoor area.
